Application in Building Energy Conservation

The designing defects in a building, such as poor acoustic effect, hollowing and the dampness inside a wall, are usually invisible to the naked eye. Conversely, infrared thermal imaging technology conducts a safety appraisal of the original architecture according to the temperature distribution on the building surface. The Ministry of Housing and Rural-Urban Construction of People’s Republic of China published the construction infrared thermal imaging requirements JG/T 269-2010, which stipulates the basic contents of architectural infrared thermal image testing, the classification of testing results and testing reports. The infrared thermal imaging is applied to detecting the poor insulation, electrical faults, water seepage, pipe transmission, insect bite, mould in architectures.

For the underground heat emission pipe, the infrared thermal imager is adopted to determine the leakage and blocking of underground heating devices and pipes, as well as other faults. The infrared measurement can determine the position of heat emission pipe and the damage of cutting or drilling caused to the pipe when repairing and reconstructing the ground project.
